The Lake of Poschiavo has always been a centre of attraction for romantic people, friends of nature and sporty people. Bathing and water sports are a very special summer pleasure at Valposchiavo. The lake is suited for taking a cool summer bath, fishing, rowing a boat or even for surfing.  You can walk all around the lake or take your bike and ride along the west shore. Further, this powerful place gives you lots of new energy.

That water plays a very special role in southern Valposchiavo can on one hand side be explained with the hydro-electric power station of Cavaglia – today the only Swiss power station with reservoir with ecologic electricity. Who wants to discover more about hydro-electric power can hike the eco-path of Repower. The hiking trail reaches also the power station Palü (1954 m), situated below Alp Grüm, and the power station Cavaglia (1706 m).

The glacier garden is situated in the area of "Moti da Cavagliola", only a few steps from the Rhaetian Railway station of Cavaglia. For the first time studied in the 19th century, the potholes are still interesting for the experts nowadays. These “sculptures of nature” can indeed be attributed to the phenomenon of the glacial flow during the last glacial epoch. Still there are some open questions concerning their formation.

This pre-industrial handicraft enterprise is unique in Switzerland: In the late Middle Ages a mill, a sawmill and a forge have been constructed close to each other along the channel for water supply.

Daily, except on Fridays, you can swim, practice or just relax at the indoor swimming pool. The pool is 25 m long, the air has a temperature of 30°, the water is 28° warm.

Not far from the border, in Bormio, you can even relax in thermal water. The thermal springs «Bagni Nuovi» and «Bagni Vecchi» with their old pools and grottos, the small massage cascades and the whirl pools are worth being visited.
