In 2023 the IMBA Europe annual Summit will be heading to Valposchiavo (Switzerland) from 1 – 3 June 2023! The theme for the Summit “Off the beaten track” will focus on how smaller destinations can offer sustainable solutions to the current tourism industry, where less is often more. Valposchiavo is described by the hosts as a small valley that lies somewhere between Switzerland, Italy and the vastness of the sky.

IMBA Summits are a place where all key stakeholders in the mountain biking sector can gather to learn from one another, have open and honest conversations, form new relationships, and build networks. Our mission was to provide a platform to exchange new ideas, create conversation and lead thought-provoking discussions.

What is the IMBA Europe Summit?

The IMBA European Mountain Bike Summits have been held annually since 2014. Initially, to bring IMBA Europe’s widespread collective of member organisations together to share good practices, start new projects and discuss trends and challenges in mountain biking. Over the course of years, the IMBA Summits have attracted an increasingly diverse range of participants and organisations. From mountain bike advocacy groups, trail builders and professionals in the bicycle and tourism industry, to land managers, academics, public authorities, and health care practitioners.  More and more professionals are working in the emerging domain of mountain biking and the need to learn from each other, exchange knowledge, to get inspired and build partnerships has only increased.

The European Mountain Bike Summit is a two-to-three-day event, combining keynote speeches from opinion leaders with workshops, site visits, project meetings, panel debates and social activities, including daily (group) rides.

If you plan to attend this year's summit, choose from the possible options below which one is right for you. You can choose whether to attend the entire conference or only one of the two days.

Immediately following the IMBA Europe Summit 2023, the Vivabike Festival will be held in Valposchiavo. What an opportunity! Take advantage of it and extend your stay and also attend the Vivabike Festival. With one registration you can be part of both events.

Each registration corresponds to three rates to choose from:

Early Bird: close 15 March 2023
Member: close 24 May 2023
Non-member: close 24 May 2023

Depending on the registration option chosen, the fee includes the following services:

Thursday, 1 June 2023: Early bird activity, keynotes and workshops, coffee break, lunch, bike ride, dinner
Friday, 2 June 2023: Early bird activity, keynotes and workshops, coffee break, lunch, afternoon activity, apero Vivabike
Saturday, 3 June 2023 - Morning: Vivabike Festival (shuttle service, guided tour, lunch)
Saturday, 3 June 2023 - Afternoon: Vivabike Festival (shuttle service, guided tour, 100% Valposchiavo dinner)
Sunday, 4 June 2023: Vivabike Festival (shuttle service, guided tour, lunch) 

Upon confirmation of your registration you will receive your ticket via email. You will need to bring it with you and present it at the time of accreditation. We will contact you with more information in May.

Insurance is responsibility of the participants. The organiser accepts no liability for accidents occurring during the event.

How to get in Valposchiavo

It is best to reach Valposchiavo by public transportation. This applies to those coming from the north as well as those coming from the south. During the IMBA Europe Summit all transportation is organized and included in your registration, so you don't need a car.

The arrival and return trip are not included in the registration fee.

Choose your own schedule:

Travel to the IMBA Summit 2023 in Poschiavo with the Rhaetian Railway and get your return ticket for free. Buy a one-way ticket, have your participation confirmed by the organiser and the ticket is also valid for the return journey. The return journey can also take place on 4 June. The offer is valid from all the stations of the Rhaetian Railway (RhB).
